Truro's Historic Statues Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

A and W: We have heard recently that some of the statues in town have developed some kind of rot and are dangerous (falling hazard I guess). So we are taking this one out of action. Hopefully we can place a couple of new ones in the near future. Sorry for the inconvenience. A and W

N ABC
W DEF

#1. Pearl Merton Louther
Read up on this railway worker and then answer your first clue.
A = First digit of birth + Last digit of death
B = Third digit of birth - Third digit of death

#2 Robert Lorne Stanfield
N 45.21.946
W 063.16.553
Read the plaque on this statue for the answer to clue #2
C = The second digit of this man's birth.

Simple so far right, then on to # 3. You're half way there!

N 45.21.974
W 063.16.847
D = Third digit of the year Mary was born.
E = Last digit of year of birth + last digit of the year of her death.

#4 Vera Klyke (1908-1998)
N 45.22.181
w 063.17.213

Go ahead read the plaque !
This woman was organist at one church for 71 years !
F = The first digit of when she started as organist + the last digit of the year she finished playing.

Now you have all the numbers you need to find the cache.
Divide ABC by 1000 and subtract this number from the North co-ords of the organist.
Divide DEF by 1000 and subtract this number from the West co-ords of the organist.

Your answer will take you to the cache. Have fun !!!!
