A log-only micro overlooking a lake.
Lake Cunningham is a City of San Jose Regional Park which doubles as the home of the Raging Waters theme park. The waterslides are tall and colorful; they are visible from several miles away.
Lake Cunningham Park is also the location of the largest man-made lake in the San Jose area, which covers 50 acres and has its own marina with public boat ramps and trailer parking. The marina is open weekends beginning in the spring and then daily through Labor Day, and offers rentals of sailboats, rowboats and pedal boats.
In addition, the park has multiple picnic areas, volleyball courts, and lots of open space.
Parking within the park is $6.00 per car, and fees are collected daily from mid-June thru Labor Day; otherwise only on weekends and holidays. It is possible (tho not easy) to park on the street outside the park and walk in, hence avoiding the fee.
The cache is located just off a dirt trail along the top of a small ridge overlooking the lake. Across the lake, you can see Raging Waters in the background.
