Brothers In Arms
This cache commemorates the 125th anniversary
of the Gunfight at the OK Corral – October 26th, 1881. Three sets
of brothers and one notorious friend set out that day in October
1881 to make names for themselves. We all know what set did – the
Earp brothers, Morgan, Wyatt, and Virgil with the help of John
Henry “Doc” Holliday. The other 2 sets of brothers made up the
“Cowboys” or the Clanton Gang: Ike and Billy Clanton and Tom and
Frank McLaury (Billy Claiborne was also present but was unarmed and
was left alone to run away). In the end only Wyatt and Ike Clanton
survived uninjured. The cowboys came out decidedly on the wrong
side of this gunfight, both McLaury boys and Billy Clanton were
gunned down. Virgil, Morgan and Doc were hit but survived their
injuries. A few weeks after the gunfight Virgil was shot during an
ambush and lost the use of his left arm. Morgan was later gunned
down in cold blood while playing pool with his brothers. Wyatt and
Doc would exert their own brand of justice in what would later be
branded the Earp Vendetta Ride. They tracked down and killed a
number of men they believed were responsible for the ambush of
Virgil and the murder of Morgan.

Crossroads
The Crossroads part of the cache is obvious
from its location. It sits right next to the I-95/Route 32
Interchange in Columbia MD. Review the map below (Yahoo high
resolution satellite image).
Be prepared for some bushwhacking. The cache
is a well hidden 30cal. ammo box. I took 12 different coordinate
(averaged) readings. None of which had an accuracy of under 25 feet
due to heavy overhead foliage.
