Geocache Description:

This trail is a former railroad bed for the Maine Central Railroad and has been converted to a multi-use trail. Might encounter atv's, hikers, bikers, and horses. Trail is flat, straight and easy footing (great for a bike ride). There are two options for parking, depending on how much you want to hike or ride. The first (and best) parking is on John Ellingwood Road in Buckfield at N44 17.221 W070 22.073. Park on the right, begin your hike on the rail trail (looks like a dirt road). Hike 1.86 miles to cache. For a shorter hike, drive past the first parking spot and drive up the rail trail. Parking is just before the gate at N44 15.668 W070 22.002. Hike 1/10th mile to cache from here. We strongly recomend using the first parking spot, although it is a longer hike, it is easy and the parking is better.
Cache is beyond the gate, about 70 feet off the right hand side of the trail. Heavy tree cover at cache site might effect your GPS, but cache is an easy find. Cache is an ammo can.
