Winter parking coordinates: (Gate) N 35 57.125 W 081 50.793
Off of Hwy 181, take Forrest Service road 496 (N 35 57.125 W 081 50.793) for 0.83 miles and park on the left. There is a sign with a white dot (mountains to the sea trail).
Bring your hiking shoes for a short hike to a beautiful cascading waterfall! This cache is located near the end of a mountain bike trail called Lower Barkhouse.
This area, in the Pisgah National Forest, is becoming a Mountain Biking Mecca. This is one of the most scenic trails in the area. Please allow time to explore the area once you find the cache of course. Just be careful around the falls and take care not to disrupt the area.
The container is a regular cache hidden near the falls. Feel free to bring some small trade items and fill me in on the details of your adventure. The cache is suspended by a rod, once you find the cache, just slide the rod back to release the cache.
