Geocache Description:

With a waypoint name like GCY666, I decided that I needed to place this cache in an area of religious significance. This is also why the cache was placed on Halloween. The cache is a magnetic keyholder with room for a log and a pencil, there is room for paper money if anyone wants to leave any for the collection plate.

This cache was originally destined for a different location; however, when the cache name was assigned, I decided to find some area more appropriate to it’s name. When looking for a suitable location, I searched the internet for ties to “666” type items and the surrounding area. As it turns out the cache is placed in an area previously known as “Hell’s Half Acre”. Do a search on this and Sioux City and you can get some further information on the red light district that used to exist here. The other half of the story is the monument located nearby. It was placed to signify the efforts of several people who worked to clean up this “Half Acre” of town. Enjoy the view and reflect on the Prospect Hill monument.

As an added bonus, there are a couple of benchmarks in the area. Log your visit to Prospect and Prospect 2 while you are here. The two benchmarks are almost due west of the cache, one near the monument and one near the edge of the bluff.
