Small lock & lock container at a little known spot just off Ooltewah-Georgetown Road.
This garden was established in 1902, and includes a nice decoritave
sign saying just that.
The fence around the garden is to keep the animals out, it is not
locked so people can come and visit at anytime (except at night)
and feel some of the peace while sitting on a nearby bench.
While you are driving to the cache on Ooltewah-Georgetown Road,
this place will pop up faster than you can say "THERE IT IS"....so
that is why intersections are conveniently placed farther up the
road for geocachers to make their infamous U-turns and come back
for a second chance. A little green directional sign will attempt
to usher visitors to the garden. I wouldn't have known about this
place if it wasn't for the little green directional sign.
Don't stick your hand into holes that you don't know where it
leads. Bring along a stick to poke around so that in the event of a
snake, the wood gets the brunt of the injury.
Also the "(except at night)" further up in the listing here is not
a suggestion. People live nearby and nighttime prowlers is frowned
at, and could leave you explaining your actions.
A note to interstate travelers: This cache is not easy off/easy on
an exit. The nearest exit is Exit 11, which is the Ooltewah
exit...and you follow Ooltewah-Georgetown Road, which runs
alongside the interstate for a few miles. The cache will be on your
left just as you are wondering if it was worth interrupting your
travels.
