The ‘Could Be, Might Be’ series - with some roots traceable back to The Lil Otter - hopes to entertain and, perhaps, enlighten you. The locales you’ll visit could be historically, geographically or environmentally significant – or not. After hunting the cache – you decide!
Important note: With Lake levels at an all-time high be careful please!
The little known Wilmette River courses through this region before finally feeding into nearby Lake Michigan. Depending on the season, recent rainfall amounts and the local water table, you might get wet attempting this one. It's always a good idea to have assortment of 'caching supplies' with you - proper footwear could be especially helpful. While the banks of any river could be steep and slippery it's not recommended to attempt this from the water - also remember that this is a posted “No Boating” zone.
A small silver 3" x 1" cylindrical container (waterproof matchstick holder)is hidden in the ‘typical fashion’ for the structure you’ll find at the coordinates at this point of the river. You could find a troll or frog a few feet from the cache..... trolls like living nearby! Explore and enjoy the surrounding area – just to the east of the cache is “The Wallace Bowl” – a beautiful stone outdoor theater and beyond it lies the beach and Lake Michigan. Legal parking may be difficult on weekends and remember the local police are quick to ticket violators – so use caution.
