Dots in the Dark Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ice and Wind: It's not appropriate to have a night cache in a park that is closed a night, so I, regretfully, have to archive this listing.

Geocache Description:

Generally flat terrain, mostly near paved trails in a park. Easy for able-bodied kids and adults

The posted coordinates are NOT CORRECT. The three 9's must be replaced with three correct digits, by solving a puzzle.

This is a puzzle/night cache, where the coordinates for the starting-point of a string of reflectors can be found by completing the math-research problem below. This cache is a tribute to Mrs. Law at North City Elementary, as well as Shoreline's awesome parks department. From the starting-point, follow the trail of head-high reflectors using a flashlight until you find two reflectors side-by-side. The cache is within a 10 foot radius of that location.

The coordinate riddle: Take the house number of North City Elementary and subtract from that both the number of K-6 students at the school, and the number of acres in the 25 Shoreline City parks. To this difference, add the product of two and the number of the classroom nearest the front doors of North City Elementary. Add to that subtotal forty-seven and you will get the last three digits of the W (second) coordinate. As a check, the sum of the three digits is nine.

At this starting point, you'll find a lucky number '11'. Beginning following the Dots in the Dark there. From there, follow the trail of head-high reflectors using a flashlight until you find two reflectors side-by-side. The cache is within a 10 foot radius of that location.
After finding the cache, continue following the Dots, which guide you back to the origin. Be brave and have fun!
