Geocache Description:

This cache is located in Coonskin Park and is designed as a family cache (not too much climbing and good kid stuff in cache). While in this area I have seen several large birds. If you are quiet and attentive you might be lucky enough to see and hear one or more of these birds while looking for this cache. If you watch where they go you can see where they nest. It’s sure to delight the kids.

Being a former Buckeye, I have made this cache Ohio-themed with a splash of some geometry for fun. There is very little bushwhacking involved in finding the cache, but you need to determine which trail to use to access the cache. The trailhead begins somewhere on the road to picnic shelters 6 – 20. The POSTED COORDINATES are the intersection (not the trailhead) of the shelter road with the main road. Once you find the trail, finding the cache should not be difficult. Please don’t post trailhead coordinates as the hint should accomplish this, if needed.

NOTE: The park closes at dusk. The road to shelters 6 - 20 is closed to vehicles during winter which makes for a longer hike (about an extra half mile each way). Please conceal cache after replacement. It has been muggled by a maintenance crew in the past.

Cache coordinates: N 38° 23.alpha W 81° 34.DEF
----------------------------------------------------

Imagine a sphere with a second smaller sphere centered inside. The radius of the large sphere is 5.2376 ft. The radius of the smaller sphere is 4.2113 ft.

alpha= volume (cubic ft) between the inner and outer sphere (round to nearest whole number)

In March 1956, when dropping an experimental aircraft from a converted B-29, Neil Armstrong, an Ohioan, lost an engine at 30,000 ft.
A= the engine number that he lost (hint: it’s not larger than four!)

Orville and Wilbur Wright, more Ohioans, only flew in the same airplane once in their lives.
B= duration of this rare flight

There exists a statue at the Ohio Capitol commemorating soldiers in the Spanish-American War. It contains two digits.
C= second digit

DEF= ABC + 4
