Located atop Mt. Forest in Berlin, NH.
A “highside” is a very nasty type of motorcycle crash. If you want
to know more about this type of crash, check the web.
As for the “Highsided” cache, it is a traditional cache, located
atop Mt. Forest in Berlin, NH. The container is a 2-liter
Lock&Lock © that has been camouflaged.
Parking is available at N 44°28.362 – W071°11.510. Be mindful of
the neighbors and don’t trespass.
December 30, 2006 - Added "Dangerous Area" attribute due to the
possibility of slippery ice during winter months. PLEASE CACHE
SAFELY!
The trail I used is
fair to poorly blazed in red, and extremely steep until you get
just short of the summit. Then you’re on your own because I could
not find any further signs of red blazing.
This trail is a “Class 4 – rock scramble”; thus the 4 terrain
rating.
Please use CAUTION when ascending the mountain from this
trail.
There may be other ways to access this cache, but you’re on your
own as I’m only familiar with this trail.
From the cache site, you’ll be able to enjoy a fantastic view of
one of the oldest paper mill cities located in The Great North
Woods.
There is a nearby benchmark “PF0927” however
only the anchor post remains.
While you're at this cache you might want to hit the
"Maynesborough" cache too. It's about 0.20 miles away.
