Geocache Description:

great scenic area -- it has it all -- beaches - hiking trails - observing all types of wildlife and fishing are just a few of the local activities you can enjoy in this area - dont be fooled by easy scenic trails though --- you will be "off-road" to find this one.....

the cache is well hidden till you are upon it - then it should be obvious where it is hidden .. bring bug spray, and watch the briars and poison ivy -- the snakes you encounter will not be venomous (unless you find a very rare copperhead!) --- this will be a much easier late fall to march cache than summer -- but it will be more of a challenge during the summer ---

Black Point is named for the ship carring a load of coal that was torpedoed off this area by a german u-boat that had not gotten word that the war was over --- the u-boat in turn was hunted down and destroyed off of Block Island -- where it still sits on the bottom - a memorial to the sailors still entombed in it --- if you are lucky you may still find a piece of coal that gets thrown up on the rocks after a strong easterly blowing storm....
