Geocache Description:

In Hacienda Heights, turn south off of Colima and park at the top of Punta Del Este. Plan on spending an hour to get this cache and others in the area.

This cache is placed along a trail I have looked down upon from the Skyline trail but never ventured down until earlier this year. What I discovered was a remote, hidden canyon accessible seemingly only from the North. It is lush and green in the spring.

But, beware, this is no cache and dash. This trail is truly LOST. Think about how many side trails you took to get here. The muggle factor will be incredibly low.

Be prepared to work a little for this cache. The trail is somewhat overgrown. Some spots wide open, others contain short sections you will be wading through the brush. Long pants recommended. Long sleeves not as important. I did not notice any poison oak but would appreciate any reports of same. Obviously, beware of encounters with snakes. I have never run into a rattler in these hills but I know my days are numbered.

Here are some photos of the first cachers that went after this cache. They haven't been heard from since May but I suspect we will learn more about their fate on Wednesday, October 4 at 9:00pm. I think they're still looking for the right cannister.
