Geocache Description:

This cache is wheelchair friendly and easy to get to. It is a very easy 3 part multi-cache. This cache is hidden in the HEART of West Bend and Washington County and is across the street from the West Bend Library and also the West Bend Art Museum. It is next to the Jailhouse Museum -another interesting place to visit.

With spires that rise above the city skyline, the Old Courthouse is a masterpiece of the late 19th century. It is a beautiful landmark that can be seen for miles. Listed on the National Register of Historical Places, the Courthouse was designed by the famous Milwaukee architect Henry C. Koch. The building served as the county's courthouse until 1962 when a new courthouse was constructed. The Historical Society has turned the courthouse into a museum, which is one of the finest examples of a local history museum in the Midwest. Permanent and temporary exhibits on the first floor include extensive displays on local business and industry, early settlers, family, social and cultural life, miliary memorabilia, and more. Also on the second floor is the newly restored Circuit Courtroom with beautiful stainglass windows. Tours of the Old Courthouse Museum are free. An elevator is available to use for persons with disabilities.

The Old Courthouse Museum is open: Wednesday - Friday from 11:00am - 5:00pm Saturday from 9:00am - 1:00pm and Sunday from 1:00-4:30 p.m.

For the cache: Find the memorial with more than one soldier on top, you are then at waypoint 1. To get to waypoint 2, fill in these blanks: N43 25.216 W088 10.ABC A=number of soldiers on top of the memorial plus number of miliary emblems engraved towards the bottom of the memorial. B=number of emblems plus one. C=number of soldiers on the monument to the east. To the final, N43 25.ABC W088 10.962 ABC=first three numbers of the year the courthouse was completed.
