GRAND MEAULNES (GCYAJ1) - Promenade d'environ 1 heure et 2 km, à 25 km au sud de Verdun - Ride of around 1 hour and 2 km, at 25 km in the south of Verdun.
FRANCAIS:
Henri-Alban Fournier est né le 3 octobre 1886 dans le Cher, à la Chapelle-d'Angillon.
Il publie en 1913 « Le Grand Meaulnes », roman autobiographique, sous le nom d’Alain Fournier.
Il est tué au sud de Verdun le 22 septembre 1914 et est porté disparu avec vingt de ses compagnons d'armes.
Son corps a été découvert dans une fosse commune et identifié en novembre 1991, après d’intenses recherches.
Il est maintenant inhumé à coté de l’église de Saint Remy la Calonne (France 55160)

Henri-Alban Fournier was born October 3, 1886 at the Chapelle d’Anguillon (France – Cher)
He published on 1913 "Le Grand Meaulnes (The Wanderer)", an autobiographic novel, under the pseudonym of Alain-Fournier.
He was killed September 22, 1914 at the south of Verdun.
His body remained unidentified until 1991, at which time he was laid to rest near the church of Saint Remy la Calonne (France 55160).
