Geocache Description:

Just off the road, watch out for itchy ivy.

The M-K-T or the "Katy" was a regional railroad stretching from St Louis, and Kansas City, MO through Oklahoma to San Antonio and Houston, Texas. It's primary commodity was grain enroute to the Gulf Ports. This cache is located where the old Katy spur between Cushing and Oklahoma City crosses the road. You can see the remains of the rail bed in the gravel path to the east through the trees. The gap is where the grade was cut through the hill. This spur carried passengers, grain as well as oil into and out of the area. This land was decomissioned in 1978 just before the Katy merged with Union Pacific. This is the first cache in what will become a series of caches along old Katy spurs throughout the region.
Don't worry about trespassing. This is our own property.
