De 'put' in Hombeek, zoals ze de Eglegemvijver noemen, is een echte
watersport vijver: surfen, zeilen, duiken, vissen, ...
Vroeger was de wandeling rond de put ook aangenaam, maar de laatste
jaren is dit gebied echter enorm achteruit gegaan door
sluikstorters en toeristen die grote hoeveelheden afval
achterlaten. In de zomer bij heel warm weer komen hier veel mensen
zwemmen. En hoewel dit verboden is kan het daarom heel druk zijn.
Ondertussen is er een nieuwe 'eigenaar' en zijn er grootse plannen
om van deze regio weer een mooi wandelparadijs te maken.
Voor onze wandeling kiezen we het leukste stuk. Aan de andere kant
van de vijver is geen wandelpad en is alles deels overgroeid.
Vlakbij het coördinaat van WP1 (bovenaan) vind je voldoende
parkeerplaats. Je moet wandelen van WP naar WP. Op ieder WP kan je
de tag vinden voor het volgende. Opgelet: Je zal verschillende
omheinde gebieden voorbij wandelen tijdens de tocht. Gelieve deze
niet te doorkruisen! Al de WP's zijn te bereiken via wandelpaden.
Gelieve discreet te loggen, er komen hier regelmatig fietsers en
wandelaars (en misschien ook andere geochacers) voorbij!
Een spiegeltje kan zeer goed van pas komen!
Ga NA WP5 naar beneden!
Nadat je de cache gevonden hebt, wandelt u gewoon verder op het
pad. Dit pad brengt u terug bij de vijver.

Pond Eglegem, or as it is called 'de put' is a real water
recreation area: windsurfing, sailing, diving, fishing,...
The path around the pond used to be very beautiful for a walk, but
the last couple of years, a lot of tourists and people dumping
their trash made this look like a dump. In the summertime a lot of
people come here to take a swim although it is forbidden. This way
it can be really crowded. Meanwhile there is a new owner of the
parc and he has big plans to make this place like it was
before.
To look for the cache we have taken the more beautiful side of the
pond for the cache. On the other side of the pond there is almost
no path and most of it is overgrown. Close to the coordinate of WP1
(on top of this page) you'll find a parking space. This cache is a
typical multi-cache from WP to WP. At each WP you'll find a tag
containing the coordinates of the next one. Attention: you'll pass
some areas marked with barbed wire. Please do not cross these! All
the WP's are accesible using the paths. Please use stealth when
taking out the cache! A lot of cylists and hikers use these
paths.
A little mirror is needed!
Use the trail heading downwards AFTER WP5!
After you've located the cache, keep following the path you're on.
This will bring you back to the pond.
