A sparkling lake
This is one of Maggie Potts' several great caches in the area. Since her passing I have adopted this one to help keep her legacy alive. It was originally placed by Maggie on September 26th 2002.
Park at N 41 34.926 / W 92 33.357. Follow the trail west from the Foster Center. This is a half mile or so walk on wide, well mown trails. The fenceline trail is the roughtest, the other one will get you there just about as quickly.
If you park at Shelter House #3, you'll have a .15m walk, however the road on the north side of the lake is closed after the camping season. If you're lucky, the gate at the shelterhouse will be open, and you'll be able to park 250 ft. from the cache.
This is a 98 acre lake that serves as the water resevoir for the town. Bring your camper, and if you come in the winter, bring your fishing shack.
The cache is a ammo box. The original contents of this cache included a genuine cubic zirconia "Diamond" ring.
On 5-19-04, this cache was moved to a new location, very near the old one, but a little more challenging. I've included a new camera, please take your pic! Help keep this one hidden by replacing all the camoflauge.
