We get so much traffic with
visitors and locals heading north and south along this stretch
of I-75. You may not realize it but you can travel north on
I-75 all the way from Sault Ste. Marie (and Canada for that
matter) to Hialeah, Florida, near Miami, and passing thru
Naples, Tampa, Atlanta, Chattanooga, Knoxville, Cincinnati,
Toledo and Detroit along the way. What a perfect place to grab
a find or exhange a travel bug off to see it along it’s way
north (or south) along this corridor on the east coast that
covers 1,786.47 miles of blacktop and see more then a million
motorist per day! Click here for more
I-75 information.
This is a quick little find and it’s
in a neat little stopping spot near Ellenton, Florida. Just south
of where I-275 branches off to head to St. Pete and Clearwater it’s
a easy spot for anyone traveling thru or residing in the area.
There is plenty of parking located at N27 31.946 W82 30.344, plenty
of nearby outlet shopping for anything you could imagine, plenty of
food stops, restaurants, gas stations, accommodations and plenty to
offer the weary traveler. This area also has a tourist information
center and easy access back onto the interstate.
There should be no issues with
muggles here at any time (except around Christmas you might see
people parking all the way out here). There is a nice spot of
nature to hang out right here in the middle of all the activity
that surrounds this spot.

A nice view of the area around the
cache location.
Just exit off I-75 either north or
south bound, head east on 301 and follow the rest of the traffic
(most everyone exiting here will be heading to the same place). The
cache is tucked away back behind a little hidden park of the
parking area alongside a little lake. A good spot to sit and
unwind.
This cache was orginally the I-75
Snowbird TB Condo but checking on this yesterday and the entire
ammo box and contents (including three TB's) was totally missing. I
like this spot but if there is a problem with muggles I prefer not
to donate more to be snatched so the full size hide was replaced
with a camo'ed micro. If any of the listed TB's end up back in
circulation please let me know as this has been a secure spot for a
long time and it's sad to hear of your geocache disappearing but
it's tougher to inform cacher their TB's went missing with
it.
Enjoy the find and practice
CITO.
