Butterfly Kisses Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cynwood: Checked on this one and it is gone. Things have really been trimmed, and the camo that was there when placed is gone. Archiving this one since it can no longer hide were it was placed. Thanks to all for looking.

Geocache Description:

Located at the beautiful Chinsegut Big Pine Tract off Hwy 41, north of Brooksville. Parking can be found at the trailhead on Old Crystal River Road. This trail takes you through a variety of habitats some of which are in varying stages of restoration. AHC?

While trying to decide on a name for this cache I noticed all the butterflies fluttering about on the trail. I remembered an art project that I had to do for a class at LSCC. We had to take a poem or song and illustrate it in a picture. I picked the song "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlilse. I hope you are able to see as many different butterflies as I did when I placed the cache, and if you haven't heard the song before, take a few minutes to listen to it sometime.

Located on the Brooksville ridge in Hernando County, Chinsegut WEA consists of the 408-acre Chinsegut Nature Center and the 420-acre Big Pine Tract, the second largest contiguous tract of old-growth longleaf pine in Florida. Four major events are held at the Nature Center each year: Reptile/Amphibian Expo Day, Pioneer Day, Chinsegut Run and Fun Walk, and Welcome Back Songbirds. Throughout the year, scores of other programs are offered for the general public, school children, and teachers. Take a night walk to May's Prairie and listen for frogs, owls, flying squirrels, bats, and other nighttime wildlife. Learn the fundamentals of bird watching in Birding 101. Hike through the Big Pine Tract with a wildlife biologist and learn to read animal sign. Take an introductory archery workshop or help members of the Florida Native Plant Society and the Hernando Audubon Society remove exotic plants and improve the butterfly garden. Volunteer opportunities abound at Chinsegut WEA. Chinsegut is a choice location for seeing migratory as well as resident birds. White-tailed deer are abundant and frequently wander by the Nature Center. Peruse the Wildlife page for more information about the area's wildlife. (View Link)
