Visit Barber Creek Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

IowaBeaver: I'm going to archive this since I've had a hard time finding the time to get out there and this was under water so it wasn't the greatest choice of placement.

Geocache Description:

Come visit Barber Creek Wildlife Management Area!

Hunting is allowed in season in this area. Please wear safety orange if you choose to cache during hunting season.

This is a nice stroll through the weeds. No elevation changes, but plenty of hidden objects to step over. The cache is a Tupperware container. If you walk by the cache there is a virtually a poison oak free path to the cache. Please make sure all corners are locked down to keep this waterproof. I was going to put Iowa Disney here, but the state wildlife biologist requested to “not use ammo boxes or anything that might be mis-identified as a bomb.”

There is an unactivated Civil War Geocoin for the first to find!

Note from Bob Sheets- State Wildlife Biologist:

“Would you do me one favor: If you see any signs of wild boar or pigs on the area please report back with a location. We have reason to believe someone has dumped several on the area and we want them eliminated before they reproduce in the Wapsi bottoms.

Thanks,

Bob Sheets- State Wildlife Biologist

Finally: Hunting is allowed in season in this area. Please wear safety orange if you choose to cache during hunting season.
