Take the Embudo trail 1.4 miles to the cache. Hit "Black Faced Rock" on the way up
Great view from a large "Rock Castle". From the trail head at the end of Indian School, take the Embudo trail up into the Sandia's. The trail through the narrow section of the canyon with several small waterfalls is on the N. side. From "Black Faced Rock" it's an easy walk up the wash. At N35 5.767 W106 27.555 you want to take the left wash so that we don't make too many trails over to the rock pile. The actual Embudo trail crosses the wash 30-40 ft to the East. My six year old has hiked into this "Castle" twice, and loves scrambling over rocks. Flat trails are boring, steep and rocky (not loose) is more her style.
