Historical three/fouths mile on road
Visit one of Montana's historical silver mining ghost towns to find this cache. Located up the Wise River between the East and West Pioneer mountains. Turn off the Wise River Hiway at the Mono Creek road. About a 5 mile drive to the parking lot. From there it is a nice half mile walk to the town. Plan on another half mile of enjoyable exploration of the town and mine site. From "Montana Mining Ghost Towns" by Fifer, and Roland: Coolidge was created by a former Montana politician and was the site of Montana's final and largest silver development which lasted less than two decades." More information can be found on Montana's ghost towns in this excellent book. It contains many wonderful photographs.
This is the 2nd cache in the area as the first one had a "no trespassing" sign placed in front of it so it was archived. This is the same cache placed in a new location that will be accesible all the time.
The cache is an ammo box. GPS coverage at this location is weak at times so the hints are quite specific. Enjoy this unique Montana ghost town before it falls down anymore.
