Geocache Description:

Take Highway 13 or Railroad Avenue to the north of Rifle, but don’t go too far, check your coordinates. The sight of many flags will signal your humongous nano goal. This multi cache is all about rifles and a creek.

The town of Rifle received its name from the creek, Rifle Creek. The original naming of the creek is the subject of several interesting legends; all associated with a rifle; a rifle leaning against a tree, shooting a rifle to signal others at the confluence of West, Middle and East Rifle Creeks, a rifle left creek-side by the historic Hayden Survey Party in the 1870’s, etc., But none of the rifles of the legends are as large as the subject of this cache. Talk about humongous! The coordinates posted are for the nano. The nano will reveal the actual cache location. (Pay attention to the 'clue' in the nano.) Watch for picnicking muggles near the cache; for fear of muggles is the reason the cache was so well hidden. GPS reception may be poor in the shade of summer tree leaves. Take the easy path thru a grove of small trees and hang a sharp right.(With the nano 'clue' in mind, notice what the beavers have done with their teeth. You should be very close now.) Keep your back to the creek while groping for the ammo box cache.
