Orchard Lake Nature Sanctuary Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

-Rusty-: The cache owner has not logged into geocaching.com since Novemeber 2006 and there are multiple no-finds. While Geocaching.com would like to continue to hold the location, doing so blocks other cachers from placing caches in the area, and thus I regretfully must archive it.

If you are able to get out and replace the cache, simply drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. I will be more than happy to take a look at it to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

Thank you,

Rusty...

Geocache Description:

Here's a true hidden gem in Oakland County. Bring your camera for this one!

This is a multi-stage cache at Orchard Lake Nature Sanctuary. No bikes or dogs are allowed. The park is open from dawn to dusk. Parking is at N 42° 34.399' W 083° 22.595'. This parking area is N of Pontiac Trail just west of Old Orchard Trail.

Stage 1: Proceed to coordinates mentioned at beginning of listing which will take you to the covered shelter. At this stage, you will have to use your observation skills. There is no container. This is a puzzle stage. Because, it has been reported that GPS's have weak signals here, you won't need to use your GPS once you arrive at the shelter. You will be using observation skills to find 6 digits. The first three complete the second cache's coordinates N 42° 34.___ and the last 3 complete the coordinates W 083° 22.___. Once you arrive at the covered shelter, you will need to solve this riddle: "A sign of grace will appear, if you look right, will your digits be near?" If you can solve this, than you will find the 6 digits. Look carefully.

Stage 2: Proceed to coordinates discovered in stage 1. WARNING - This is the hardest part of the multi cache. Here you are looking for a micro container. Inside this container are the coordinates to stage 3. If you find this "item of nature", proceed to stage 3.

Stage 3: Contents are hidden in a 50 cal ammo box. This is probably the easiest of the 3 stages. You deserve it if you make it this far! I have left some various goodies inside this cache. Please sign the log book and exchange/leave items for the next finder.

Congrats to Rattrak for the FTF Prize, a $25 Meijer Gift Card!!

In order for this multi cache to work effectively, please put each cache back exactly where and how you found it, replacing any camoflague if necessary.

After finding this cache, take some time to discover this nature sanctuary on your own. There are some great scenic views and many paths to explore. Have fun and enjoy!
