The flat landscape and one of the drainage ditches on the way to
the cache
As this is my very first cache I'm dedicating it to that
celebrated and infamous B-movie director Ed Wood.
Infinitely more famous now than he ever was when alive,
Edward D. Wood Jr. died penniless, and was tagged worst
director of all time - but was given the singular honour of a
full-length bio-pic by Tim Burton. Starring Johnny Depp and
entitled Ed Wood this bemusing run through Ed's life
includes sequences of shooting Bride of the Monster, Glen
or Glenda? and Plan 9 From Outer Space (in fact, Plan
9's semi-official status as the Worst Film Ever Made
gives it a substantial cult following today).
He was also infamous for always using the first (and only) take
- I guess if I ever got into movies I would be him! :)
The cache
The track that runs alongside the site of the cache is known
historically as Clive's Lane and gives a great, broad view of the
countryside around. The cache is in a clip-it plastic box
and any local antics are excusably just that.
Enjoy this reasonably easy cache to Ed Wood.
NOTE: Be aware of pheasant pluckers from October to
February.
