Geocache Description:

A quick park and grab cache in Tiverton, Rhode Island. One should have little difficulty navigating the terrain and locating the cache.

This cache is loctated along the Sakonnet River in Tiverton, RI in the area of Grinnell's Beach. Although the Beach area requires a fee to enter during the summer, one does not have to park or enter the actual beach area to find the cache. You should enjoy a cool view of the many boats docked on both sides of the river. There is also a statue is this area that you can check out.
The cache is an ammo can that contains the usual items including a mini flashlight and radio. A $2.00 R.I. Lottery scratch ticket awaits the FTF. Good luck and happy caching.

Congratulations to Team AZGems for the FTF. They had to double their efforts to get credit for this FTF.

I'd like to leave the story of the cache's journey permanently in the body of this listing.
This cache was washed out from its hiding spot duiring a rain storm on October 28th. The water flow dragged the cache through the sand and into the river. The current and just the right wind direction carried the cache across the river into Portsmouth. The cache washed ashore and on the Sunday following the rain storm it was stumbled upon by a local homeowner. This thoughtful and courteous homeowner noticed the Geocaching.com sticker on the cache and brought the cache home to keep it safe. She logged on to the web site, created a profile, and emailed me to inform me that she had found and to offer to arrange its return.
Those arrangements were made and today (November 4th 2006) TheCachemen were reunited with their cache. Minutes later the cache, completely undamaged, was returned to its original hiding spot. I cannot thank this thoughtful Portsmouth citizen enough for her courtesy.
