Geocache Description:

This is Indianapolis' most modern and cultured cemetery, serving the city since 1920.

Here, you will not see a vast stretch of old neglected headstones sinking into shifting soils, broken and upended and rendered illegible with the passage of time. Instead, you will find manicured lawns and lovely landscaping dotted with flat stones and huge mausoleums, all surrounded by a deep woods.

Art installations decorate the different sections. Stroll the grounds and look for two fanciful castles, an art deco sundial and a Liberty Bell. On the south end of the small lake, you'll find a duck feeding area where the ducks swim to the lakes edge and look to you expectantly, awaiting treats. And near the cache, you'll find a carillon bell tower. If these bells play, I did not hear them on my visit. Let me know if you hear them.

This is an active cemetery. Be quiet and respectful while you enjoy these peaceful and well-tended grounds. The cache is hidden in the woods, off a mown section that is not yet being used.

You are seeking a 1 qt thermos jug.
