Chito Branch Multi Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

FSUDad: This one is soooo popular it hasn't been found in almost three years. I guess if you can't hit the cache with your car door the newer cachers don't hunt them.

Geocache Description:

The coordinates listed are for stage one of a four stage multi cache located in the southern part of the Alafia River Corridor Nature Preserve. Hours for the preserve are from sunrise to sunset. Leashed dogs are welcomed. About a 4 mile walk. Stage One is a copper tag, stage two is a semi waterproofed container slightly smaller than a decon container, stage three is a camouflaged 35mm film containers. Each stage contains the coordinates to the next stage. The final is an ammo can.

This is the first cache placed in this beautiful part of Florida. The others in the area were placed to fill in the walk around the property. Enjoy the hike!

While searching for this cache you will pass through pine flatwoods, dry prairie, hardwood hammocks and wetlands. Depending on water levels you may have one or more water crossings. Bring water shoes if you don't want to get your hiking boots wet.

All stages can be found along a two track trail that runs throughout the preserve. After finding stage one you have a choice, you can continue following the two track (which makes for a longer walk) or you can bushwhack to stage two, not a palmetto bushwhack, mostly high prairie grasses and maybe a small stream crossing. After finding stage two I would recommend staying on the two track for stage three and the final. Make sure you search for the other caches in this part of the preserve.
