Geocache Description:

The cache is in a public hunting ground accessed from a parking lot of a public park. You will take about a 1/2 mile hike. Wear bright colors in the fall.

The cache is not at the above coordinates! You will need to find some clues to complete the cache coordinates.

In Rome do as the Romans do. In Rome, Wisconsin do has Wandering Wally does. Rome, Jefferson County, WI, is a small town of around 575 residents along the bank of the Bark River. The Bark River is a great little river for canoeing and kayaking. The surrounding roads are good for biking or motorcycling. There is public hunting ground near by for hiking, snow shoeing or just sitting in the forest. I enjoy all of the above.

Rome's claim to fame is the TV show Picket Fences. It was a 60 minute drama which ran from 1992 to 1996 and followed the fictional lives of the residents of Rome, Wisconsin. The show was really filmed in Monrovia, CA. As far as I know the only footage of Rome, WI was the opening of each show that showed a log cabin that you will visit today. The cabin was seen 87 times on CBS with the original airing. The show continues to be rerun in France, Germany, Denmark and Canada. It won fourteen Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe in it's four year run.

Start at the above coordinates. You need to find and write down the fire number of Pickets. Pickets is a fun little country store that has everything. Leaving pickets go east on County F about .4 miles to a baseball field. Look for a memorial and check out the cabin that has been seen all over the world. Leaving the baseball field again go east on County F .4 miles to Rome Pond Park. You will start your hike here.

The cache is at N42 AB.888 W088 3C.985

A is the last number on Fossil's jersy.
B is the second digit in Picket's fire number.
C is the number of visable horizontal logs on a end of the cabin divided by two.

Have a nice hike!
