I wanted to put some ammo cans out in a fairly urban enviroment
to give folks around here something other than a micro to find. The
first location of this cache was bulldozed, so I decided to take
the container and place it somewhere else to give everyone a chance
to find it again. This time I made the hide a little more
interesting. It is definately not quite as easy to get to, but it
is still just a little ways off the pavement. The container was
created and placed at its first location by myself and my friend
Arkhiker on a weekend where we were left at home by our spouses and
kids.
I suggest parking at the clearing on Saddlebrook Dr. just north
of the cache. You can park at the church on Pipkin, but it is not
as nice of a walk. Wear something you don't mind getting a little
dirty, and DO NOT hunt this cache after a hard rain!
This cache is a normal sized ammo can camoed to match its
surroundings. You will understand the name of the cache when you
find it. The original swag for the first Ovation cache contained a
decon container, a waterproof match box container, rope, batteries,
and various toys I took from my dental office treasure chest. I
didn't make a list of current contents. The log book is the same,
so you can look back at your previous notes. I just rehid the
container and contents as it was. I had trouble getting a good
reading for coords, so if they are off, let me know.
