LABBOO: Time to take this one down. The geo trail is getting too pronounced and we told the nearby businesses it would only be about a year, so bye-bye!

Geocache Description:

This cache is the eighth of nine in a series to introduce the Hebrew Alphabet. This small tupperware cache contains a few Hebrew scrabble tiles for the first few finders. Park in either of the two nearby parking lots to find this cache.

Now on to the lesson...

/ Shin/Sin – Another pair of letters. If the dot is over the right upward branch of this letter, it is Shin and has the /sh/ sound of shoulder. If the dot is over the left upward branch of this letter, it is sin and has an /s/ sound like silence. The Hebrew word for peace, Shalom, begins with the letter Shin. The numerical equivalent of Shin/Sin is 300.

/ Tahv – There are actually two versions of this letter. One has a dot in the center and one does not. Some pronunciations of Hebrew distinguish between the two but some do not. It typically has the /t/ sound as in toboggan. The Hebrew word Tapooan, which means apple, begins with the letter Tahv.
