This is the fifth in a series of geocaches placed by The Rusty Nail Lodge Militia. The R.N.L.M. is a group of like-minded individuals who enjoy fishing, hunting, camping, and four-wheeling. We will hide caches in some of our favorites areas.
This cache is located in the Skagit Valley Provincial Park. Near Ross Lake. The same area as our first cache (Loons at Ross Lake). There is two ways to reach this cache, you can go on foot through the Chittenden meadow and follow the trail that goes to Galene lakes. Then take a left at the Internatinal trail. Follow this trail. It could take anywhere from two to four hours return. Depending on your pace. The other way and the quicker way to reach the area is by boat. If you drive all the way in to Ross Lake and follow the signs to the boat launch. The boat trip could be done by motorboat or canoe. Head for a small beach on the other side of the lake, at co-ordinates N 49-00.180 W 121-05.330 It is about 20-30 minutes by boat. Be careful of stumps.
The cache is a green ammo box. It contains a log book with various trading items. As the name hints it is on the border, for this reason we put in things to do with both sides of the border.
