Nice little park, no sidewalks, but almost handicap able, nicely mowed and well kept.
My first cache, contents include: Unactivated generic coin for the FTF prize, my first TB Dear John, Red Cross Pin, mini basketball, house key chain, gold car, geocaching button. LaCrew died in the 1930's, nearly everone left. Nice roadside stop to get out and limber up the legs a little. This park is very new but does have a shelter house, designed to look simmilar to the General Store that had stood in the same spot. As usage increases the county has more plans for this little city. Gas cost a whopping 6 cents per gallon during LaCrew's prosperous years of the early 1920s. It was on the railroad line between Keokuk and Mount Pleasant, but by the 1930s cars and trucks had taken over and many of the small railroad towns slowly lost their populations across America. LaCrew was gradually abandoned along with them.
