Yuzawa Kat: Burgi Dad [8D] took what was necessary to refurbish this cache... and was disappointed [V] to have to call me [:o] with the bad news. As TigerGeocacher [:p] said on 3/19, this looks like it had survived a GeoMuggle encounter... but just barely! This entire Enchanted Forest area has been taken over by Swastika-Carving UrbanCretins. [:(!] [V] That's too much to handle for fun-loving, CITOing GXers. We'll [8D] [8D] archive for now, report this info to our City Park contacts, and check it out again in a couple of months.

Geocache Description:

Two series for the price of one!

This is one of the "If Ida" series as well as the "East Meet West" series highlighting the Clearwater East-West Trail.

First, let me explain: "If Ida" is short for "If Ida known you were coming, Ida baked you a cake." This series will celebrate, in a variety of ways, GXers we have met. Burgi Dad and I enjoyed a much-too-short midday GeoCaravan today with the Ostentatious Austin Texans (O.A.T.s), GadgetGirl, GadgetGuyver, TreyB and Mrs. Captain Picard. . Afterwards, I couldn't resist putting this one out to commemorate their visit.

Let's start with Mrs. Captain Picard: Picture her on the bridge, looking off into the great beyond (the nearby enchanted forest with an entrance to the southwest). As soon as she gets her mind set, she says, "Make It So, Number One." And Number Two and Number Trey...

Speaking of TreyB , imagine him zeroing in on Three Trees of the Not So Similar Kind.

Then in come the GadgetGirl and the GadgetGuyver . Bending down and bumping around and finding a container about the size of a peanut butter jar, full of gadgets. Hey, we're done here, we've "Made It So", so off we go to the next cache!

Oh, and don't let me forget, this is one of several caches to highlight the Clearwater East-West Trail, which is open to non-motorized traffic only. The Trail is open from dawn to dusk due to parts of it being residential in nature, but some parts are accessible 24/7, like this one, as long as the lights are on... or you bring your own NiVED (Night Vision Enhancement Device)! Be discreet, as GeoMuggles abound sometimes. Please beware of the Florida State Bird. Be prepared for sightings as well as possible (probable) contact...

By the by, Burgi Dad and I were asked to represent GXing at the Clearwater East West Trail Pedestrian Bridge Grand Opening Ceremonies on Sept. 22, 2005. How cool is THAT! We were honored, not so much for us, but for GXing to have such good standing with the City of Clearwater. Keep up the good work, fellow GXers, with your treating the parks kindly and your CITOing.
