Geocache Description:

Scenic location frequented by photographers and amateur astronomers.

Camoed tubberware hidden just off the cleared area at the top of Mt. Pollux, an Town of Amherst conservation area. The area is used by the local astronomy club on clear Friday and Sunday nights, and for special occasions like comets and meteor showers, and is popular sunset viewing area by locals and college students. Cache can be done evenings, though the gate may be shut after 11PM. Be considerate of any telescope users present, avoid shining white light in their direction. They are usually happy to show off views of the moon and planets to visitors.

Great views of the Holyoke Range to the south, UMASS to the NW, and is a breathtaking site when the apple trees blossom in spring.

Small parking area near the top of the hill only accommodates 5 or 6 cars.
