Geocache Description:

The co-ordinates given are for car parking. To obtain the co-ordinates for this cache you will first have to visit Jumbles (GCYY0M) and Entwistle (GCYY0X) and record them fom these. Wayoh is a popular area so please be aware of muggles.
The container is an ammo box specially painted for me by the Lego Men.

ENTWISTLE & WAYOH RESERVOIRS
These two reservoirs are situated north of Bolton. Park at Entwistle car park for both routes. Both routes are graded as easy walking and the path around Turton and Entwistle (4 km) is wheelchair accessible. Wayoh is slightly longer at 5 km. Construction of Entwistle Reservoir, began in 1831, where the waters assisted in the cleaning and bleaching of wool and cotton in the local mills. Entwistle became operational in 1838 and became a source of drinking water in 1876. Together with Wayoh, the two reservoirs make up around 50% of Bolton's drinking water. With a combination of tall fir trees, moorland and long stretches of water, Entwistle reservoir has a wild beauty which has been compared to some parts of Scotland for scenery and peace,
The northerly section of Wayoh is a nature reserve, where there is a variety of wildfowl. The calm waters of Wayoh bely the existence of the former Know Mill Bleachworks, lying at the bottom, and which were operational until 1908. The name Wayoh is derived from the Old English ‘weg’ meaning way and ‘hoh’ meaning path over spur of hill.
Several farms were lost during the construction but more impact on the community came with the building of the railway in 1848. 3000 people were encamped in the area at this time and the whole project including the viaduct at Entwistle took 3 years with the loss of 3 lives
