While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

Geocache Description:

A cache on a site that had great activity in former days. Now a nice place for a rest.

Over the bridge towards B?vollen..

The place:
On the farm Bø about 1 km from the farm itself there is an area of flat land down by the river. On this year in the period 1860-1890 the was great industrial activity.

From ancient times there had been sawmill and grainmill in the area, but from about 1850 and onwards they tried to start new industries here.

In the 1850s a paper mill was started, lead by a German supervisor. The mill was porduction for about 10 years.

Around 1855 a nail smithy was started. but lasted only a short time. It was kicated close to where the big pine stands today.

In the 1870s a brick yard was established a little south of B?vollen. Little is known about the brick yard, but bricks from the yard are found in the main building on the farm B?.

B?vollen today.

In the area there is an information board giving more details about what activities that have taken place here. There is also a description of the activities at Cache "Bruvollen".

The cache:
The cache is a Biokips box (Lock&Lock look-alike) of the size 15 x 22 x 12 centimetres, wrapped in a black plastic bag. It contains log, stashnote, pencil and pencil-sharpener and quite a few items for trading. And also a small present for the FTF.

Parking and the start of the trail leading to the cache have their own waypoints, see below. The distance from the parking is about 300 metres.

In wet conditions the bridge can be very slippery - take care!
Winter: The cache is accessible in winter if yoy don't mind wading in the snow for a couple of hundred metres.
