Geocache Description:

This is a multi-cache that involves finding various spots on Whitman College campus that will give you numbers to add (or subtract) to obtain the location of a nano cache. That nano holds the coordinates to the final cache which has log book and a few small trade items, including a couple travel bugs to start out with.

STAGE 1 is at N46 04.303 W118 19.577 This is known as “Treaty Rock”, commemorating a treaty among several Native American tribes. The plaque was presented by the class of 19___ ___ (two digit number)

STAGE 2 is at N46 04.248 W118 19.605 These columns of basalt were presented to the college by the class of ____ ____ ____ ____ , For this clue you will record the FIRST number of the year and the LAST Number of the year to make a two digit number. ____ ____

STAGE 3 is at N46 04.359 W118 19.757 This is the year in the cornerstone memorializing Reynolds Hall ____ ____ ____ ____ (four digit number)

ADD these three numbers together, to get a four digit number: ____ ____ ____ ____

STAGE 6 is at N46 04.324 W118 19.743 which is a sculpture by Deborah Butterfield. Count the number of letters in the name of the sculpture represented. ____ (one digit number)

Now that you know the Lattitude & Longitude you are seeking, that will take you to the location of the VERY VERY SMALL cache which holds the actual coordinates to where the final cache with the log book. ALL stages are on Whitman College campus and are accessible any time of day or night, although if you plan to do this at night be sure you bring a flashlight to read the years on some of the plaques.
