‘Oxford Canal’ caches are part of a series set along the banks
of the Oxford Canal.
The Oxford canal runs for 77 miles from Coventry to Oxford
joining the Coventry canal and the Thames. It was designed by the
famous James Brindley who sadly died in 1772, long before it was
finally finish. Construction took nearly 20 years, the total length
finally being open on January 1st 1790. It was originally intended
to carry trade from the Midland to London, today the canal is
popular for walking and pleasure cruises.
The cache site can be reached along the well maintained towpath,
the cache is a small plastic box with log and pencil.
