This cache uses a number series identified by a 13th century Italian mathematician, Leonardo Pisano Fibonacci.
Figure out the numeric pattern, and you will find the first stage.
Cache is not located at above coordinates; the above coordinates are your parking coordinates. You must first solve the puzzle below to obtain the cache coordinates for the first stage. Finding the first stage will reveal the coordinates of the second and final stage.
Leonardo Pisano Fibonacci (1170 - 1250) was born in Pisa, Italy. He was a mathematician who discovered a number series that was eventually named after him.
The original problem that Fibonacci investigated (in the year 1202) was about how fast rabbits could breed in ideal circumstances.
Suppose a newly-born pair of rabbits, one male, one female, are put in a field. Rabbits are able to mate at the age of one month so that at the end of its second month a female can produce another pair of rabbits. Suppose that our rabbits never die and that the female always produces one new pair (one male, one female) every month from the second month on…
First stage cache is located at:
N 42° 35.ABC
W 083° 00.DEF
Here you will find the coordinates to the second and final stage.
A= At the end of which month are there a total of five pairs of rabbits?
B= How many pairs of rabbits are there at the end of the fifth month?
C= How many NEW pairs of rabbits are added at the end of the forth month?
D= At the end of which month are there a total of twenty-one pairs of rabbits?
E= How many new pairs of rabbits are added at the end of the first month?
F= How many new pairs of rabbits are added at the end of the fifth month?
First stage is a micro which requires maximum stealth!
Second stage is a small Rubbermaid style container which contains a log book and pencil and has very little room for trade items. Very little bushwacking required for second/final stage.
In order to get credit for this cache you must sign the log book located in the second stage. Watch out for poison ivy.
This cache is placed with permission of Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation Department (thanks Kyle L.)
