This cache has been archived.

ScuttlersUK: I went to the cache site today to maintain, it and I found that the signpost to which the clue refers to has disappeared. As a consequence I have decided to archive this cache. It will however, be replaced with another one close by. ScuttlersUK

Geocache Description:

Please note the quoted co-ordinates are NOT the cache location, they are a starting point for the road to York!

For those of us who remember (and perhaps agree with,) the old saying, "The only good thing to come out of Yorkshire is the road into Lancashire".. this cache is dedicated to you.. Now you don't have to cross the border to visit York!

Nestling in the heart of the Ribble Valley is the tiny village of York. Consisting of approximately 20 houses and a pub! Calling York a village, however, is probably to grand, its more of a hamlet. At the summit of York Road, there are breathtaking views of Pendle, the Ribble Valley and, (on a clear day) the Fylde Coast. The cache can be done by car, on foot, by cycle or whatever other form of transport takes your fancy!

Before the actual cache is located however, you have to visit a couple of other nearby locations and obtain an obvious three digit number from each. Then, using the below simple(ish) formula, you can work out where you need be. The formula requires a bit of lateral thinking!

Once you have visited the locations shown below and obtained the relevant information, use this formula to calculate the final cache co-ordinates;

N 53'47.(Jumbo Jet - ABC) W 002'26.(DEFx3)- a very old record r.p.m.)

The cache is a clear plastic container and is fairly well hidden. The clue relates directly to it, but is very cryptic!

A further clue will be available, but only after a DNF. Please E-mail me if the clue is needed.

p.s. I do like Yorkshire really, especially the pork pie shop at Skipton!
