Ely Falls is not the flashiest of the UP waterfalls, but is unique due to the terrain through which it runs. The rounded, pink granite outcropping overlooking the falls makes for a nice picnic area and provides a view of both the river below and across the valley.
As with most waterfalls, it is kid friendly with adequate supervision. The trail to the falls divides and rejoins itself, but at under ¼ mile, it’s short enough that as long as you start at N 46* 26.262, W 87* 41.391 on CR-476, you should have no trouble finding your way.
The cache is an ammo box. Starting contents include the standard geocaching trinkets.
