Door Mice & Butterflies Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ipplepen: This cache is being archived following the extensive damage caused by so called cachers at the cache site. The destruction of the old boundary wall is disgraceful. If the guilty party reads this be ashamed and I suggest you give up caching and find an alternative hobby.

This was my first cache placed.

Geocache Description:

Orley Common, Ipplepen.

Orley Common is a fragile site of great value for its wildlife, geology and historical interest. Because it has fairly undisturbed ancient grassland and ancient woodland, it is very species-rich, with County and national rarities.
Two of the rarities at Orley Common are Dormice and Brown Hairstreak butterflies.

Use carpark at N50 29.247 W003 39 265. Cross the road to enter Orley Common.

After a short walk through the trees and up the hill allow your GPS to take you to N50 29.122 W003 39.385. Stop and enjoy the view. Spot Denbury Hill Fort, Torbryan Church and Haytor Rocks.

Now follow the GPS to the cache site. At the destination stand at the gate and admire the different view.

This is my first cache
