Ottawa's Adopt-a-Highway CITO #1 Cache In Trash Out® Event

This cache has been archived.

JLAM-D: Good evening,

It has been a while since the Event, so figure it is time to archive it. Thanks to all who attended, see you at the next CITO.

I was waiting for the trackable items to be taken out of the event before I archived the cache...all trackables were picked up prior to me leaving the restaurant.

Cheers

Geocache Description:

**Due to safety concerns, close proximity to the Hwy, this event will unfortunately have to be limited to the first 75 people, not teams who sign up.**

Canada's Capital Cachers... It's cleanup time! The environment needs your help.

Dress for the weather, bring your gloves. Parking is available close to the posted co-ordinates. The Event will take place on Saturday 14 April 2007 at 08:30 sharp, when I will give a safety briefing to all who attend, We will begin as soon as the briefing is done and all participants sign in.

Ontario's adopt-a-highway program is a public service program designed to have volunteers pick up litter along certain provincial highway rights-of-way. Through participation in the program, Ontario residents can make a meaningful and personal contribution to a cleaner environment.

There are a few points that need to be adhered to:
-All Volunteers must be at least 12 years old to participate.
-All Volunteers must attend the safety briefing given by the authorized group representative, me.
-The MTO will provide safety equipment for the event, I would suggest bringing your own gloves and safety vest, if you have one.
-The MTO will erect the Adopt-a-Highway sign on our behalf.

We would also appreciate if everyone who attends bring a Swag item,as we will be placing a memorial cache after the CITO Event.

We will have an after clean-up gathering at the House of Van. I have contacted them and they are willing to have a buffet on for $8.50 - $9.00 if I can confirm the numbers. They will have the regular menu if we do not confirm the numbers. If you are going to the "After party" please let me know soonest.

Here is the address for the "after party"
