Geocache Description:

Join us for a GeoChristmas wonderland celebration.

Friday, December 8, 2006

The festivities will start at 6:30 P.M.

Everyone is invited to our home and to share a holiday meal and some geocaching stories. We will provide the meat, you guys need to furnish the sides and desserts. We can't wait to try all of those old family holiday recipes. We will have some drinks but canned sodas and kid drinks would also work out well. Here's the menu so far.

  • Anthony V - beer beans
  • Scott&Judy - fresh apple cake and brocolli rice casserole
  • Double Agents - jello cranberry salad
  • Ms. Teddybear - green bean casserole
  • Team Red Fox - au gratin potatos and Clarissa's dessert
  • gator_raiders - homemade fudge
  • Cybercat - sweet potato casserole
  • Moosiegirl and The Outlaw - smoked brisket (Thank you, thank you, thank you!!)
  • Ms_D_Meaner - ?
  • PetenMike - ?
  • JEPENNX2 - lots of manual labor!! (and we're NOT kidding...are you ready Mom?)
  • cpnowak - turkey and ham
  • bhakj - Hawaiian Mac Salad
  • Mrs. Captain Picard - homemade rolls
  • Shellback X23 and Thistledown-24 - pasta primavera salad
  • QueenZelda & Cub Boy - chili
  • noahsar - lemon bars
  • rabel6973 - tamales and pumpkin cake
  • deafdillos - chips and Texas caviar
  • TnT - snack foods
  • kitara - cookies
  • Wanda Texas - veggie platter with dip

Adult beverages are OK but at your own discretion. We encourage anyone who is drinking to bring their tent or blow up mattress and crash at our place. We have 5 acres so there will be plenty of primitive campsites available!

The highlight of the evening, other than hearing about all of those geocaching incidents, misfortunes and near arrests; will be the gift exchange. If you would like to be part of this you need to bring a gift valued at $5 or less. Please keep the adults gifts geocaching related. The children's gifts can be anything you like. If you have a large family like Team Red Fox (roughly 2 adults and 17 children) and you all want to be a part of the gift exchange, you will need to bring 19 gifts. Children buy/make/create for children...adults for adults...and for those somewhere in between you can decide which group you want to assign yourself to. And last but not least, everyone will know who gave what gift. Here is an example. Anthony V shows up with a shampoo and conditioner sample he picked up at the local motel 6. When Scott&Judy receive their gift they will know exactly who stiffed them! Please wrap your gift and put your name on the outside.

Please let us know how many people you will show up with and what sides you will bring. As much as we like sweet potato casserole (hint-hint) we wouldn't like 7 different versions. Please bring your camping chairs. We have wireless. We will add updates to this page so be sure and watch it. If you have any questions just shoot us an e-mail or give us a call. We hope to place several new caches in the area for everyone to find. We'll keep you posted!

Ms. Teddybear and Anthony V will be bringing a Christmas pinata for all of the kids! Thanks you guys that's a great idea!

Stocking Stuffers

Holiday Ornament Contest

Make an ornament and come hang it on our tree to get an extra smiley in your stocking. Judging will be based upon creativity, uniqueness and geocaching theme pertinence. We will be awarding a first place prize.

Holiday Song Contest

Sing your favorite holiday tune and get another smiley in your stocking. This will be a competition and a first place prize will be awarded. You may sing in groups or individually. The only rule is that there must not be any songs repeated. All those wishing to enter just post a note and claim your song early. Ave Maria although very pretty wouldn't sound quite the same if Cybercat was meowing it! Below is the list and yes it is unfair that we get to pick first and no we don't care that you really wanted jingle bells because we've already got it! LOL!

Scott of S&J ,Wayne aka The Outlaw and Candy aka Moosiegirl - Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer

cpnowak and jepennx2 - Jingle Bells

Ms. Teddybear and Geopunk - 12 days of Christmas

gator_raiders - We Wish You A Merry Christmas

Team Red Fox - Deck The Halls

Cybercat with special guest Clark - Mystery song but guarantees it won't be a duplicate

Double Agents - Here comes Santa Clause

Noahsar - Frosty the Snowman

Mrs. Captain Picard - Away in a manger
