Rauenthal bei Eltville und der Rheinsteig sind die Grobkoordinaten. Bis kurz vor dem Cache einfach und schön zu laufen; dann aber etwas steil und bei Nässe oder Schnee ggf. etwas rutschig. Gutes Schuhwerk empfohlen.
Rauenthal close to Eltville and the 'Rheinsteig' Trekking-Trail are the rough coordinates. It is an easy and nice walk down to near the cache. It becomes more steep around the cache and with wet or snowy weather conditions maybe slippery. Hence, good shoes are required.
1. Schritt / Step
Rauenthal, oberhalb von Eltville ist das Ziel. Dort kommt der Rheinsteig relativ nah an das Dorf. Gegenüber der Bäckerei an der Hauptstrasse kann man parken. Von dort geht es zu Fuss weiter, bis Ihr einen Wegweiser mit einer blauen Hinweistafel zum Rheinsteig findet. Wie hoch liegt Rauenthal über NN? Antwort = A
Rauenthal, above Eltville is the village to find. The Rheinsteig comes close here to the village. You can park opposite of the bakery at 'Hauptstrasse'. From here on you have to walk. Find the blue Sign-board relating to the 'Rheinsteig'. What's is the hight of Rauenthal above See-level? Answer = A
2. Schritt / Step
a) Rechne die dort angegebenen UTM Koordinaten in Grad / Minuten / Dezimalminuten um (macht bei mir das GPS Gerät).
Calculate the UTM coordinates into Grade / Minutes / Decimalminutes (my GPS-device does that for me)
b)Subtrahiere von den Dezimalminuten der Nordkoordinate (A+85)und Du erhälst die Nordkoordinate des Cache N50°03.xxx .
Subtract (A+85) from North-coordinate and you get the North-coordinates of the Cache: N50°03.xxx .
c)Die Ostkoordinate ist / The East-coordinate is: E008°06.043
3. Schritt
Weiter geht's! Ab hier grob die Richtung halten, ohne sich groß anzustrengen. Irgendwann, kurz vor dem Ziel, sind Felsen zu sehen. Hier wird's vieleicht schwierig, denn man muss etwas klettern. Der Cache liegt unter einer Baumwurzel ca. 5mtr östlich der unteren Felsen. Ein Stamm des siebenstämmigen Baumes ist mit einem R gekennzeichnet. Geniesse die Stille an höre den Bach im Tal rauschen!
From now on, just hold the direction without to much physical efforts.
Somewhere close to the cache you'll find some rocks. It might get a bit more difficult here since you have to climb. You find the cache beneath the roots of a tree, about 5 mtr east of the lower rocks. The trunk of the 'seven-trunked'-tree is marked with an R. Enjoy the silence and listen to the sounds of the creek down in the valley!
