It's time for the 2nd Annual (looks like this could become a tradition) Down Home Cacher's Reunion. We have been crossing paths for months. Occassionally we may bump into a fellow cacher on the trail, but not often. This is your chance to put a face with a name and swap a few lies. MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 13TH.
We read each other's logs, cheer on your success, and laugh at your failures (better change that to sympathize with your delayed successes - editor). Well, don't miss this opportunity to put a face with a name.
The plan is to begin gathering at 6:00 P.M. and start eating at about 7:00 P.M. That will give those of us who A. have to work and B. have to travel to Longview a window of opportunity. This is a family oriented sport, so, of course, the entire family is invited. Children are certainly welcome. So are Granny and Gramps (probably best to leave the pets at home [I know they geocache too, but unless you can convince the manager that it really is a seeing-eye lizzard, you are going to have to leave them in the car]) You can also leave any Muggles with the pets. The restaurant is a good down-home style so don't worry about getting all duded-up - casual is the key word. The restaurant closes at 9:00 P.M. so I would expect that that would be the lastest this event would last (that is unless you forget your wallet - plenty of dishes to wash after closing time).
As far as entertainment goes, I think we will once again have some door prizes, so if any of you have a door to donate to the cause, please do (you might remember the great big pink ammo box the YH won last year). If anybody else has other suggestions, please drop me a note.
If you think you can make this event, post a note to this cache so that we have some idea as to what to expect. Also, please make sure that as many geocachers as possible know of the event. Don't assume they will see it.
