Burnett Park, on the west side of Banchory - Part of the Around Banchory series
A normally quiet corner of a busy town, Burnett Park is the home of the Banchory Lawn Tennis Club, Banchory Tennis Club, Banchory Curling Club, and formerly the home of the Banchory/Stonehaven Athletic Club.
The cache is a Lock'n'lock style, in a black plastic bag. It contains a clockwork sprout, Ladybird pegs, an Apple shaped paper cutter, a stick of memory, a Romero Britto heart pin badge, and a friendly marker. Also there is Felix the Cat geocoin, and Onça Pintada, our own travel bug to celebrate our first cache. There is a small and sticky FoF bonus.
From the carpark, walk up hill and around the back of the tennis courts. Whichever path you take, you should end up at a gap in the fence which takes you onto the old railway line. Head west along it. There is quite a bit of tree cover, so GPS reception may be patchy. You are on good paths for all except the final few meters.
