Geocache Description:

A short 2 stage multi along a paved trail in the area formerly known as “The Catholic Swamp”. It is now a popular area for walking, cycling, bird watching and fishing. Take time to explore the entire trail as there are several informative signs along the way.
There are a number of trail entrances with street parking close by.

This is one of 4 caches in the “Hidden Hamlets” series exploring Mississauga’s pioneer roots.
You will need to find the following 3 caches and NOTE THE CODE LETTER on the inside of each container lid to determine the coordinates for Hidden Hamlets: The Final (visit link)
Hidden Hamlets: Frogmore (visit link)
Hidden Hamlets: Pucky’s Huddle (visit link)
Hidden Hamlets: The Catholic Swamp

POSTED COORDINATES WILL TAKE YOU TO STAGE 1, an interpretive sign about the rural community of Irish Catholic families who occupied this area in the 1800’s.

You will need to collect some information at this sign for the STAGE 2 coordinates:
NORTH
Multiply all the digits in the year of Fred and Elsie Workman’s photo. = _ _
Divide by 1000. = .0 _ _
SUBTRACT your answer from the posted N. coord (43 33.584). = 43 33._ _ _

WEST
Take the middle 2 digits of the year the area was incorporated into the City of Mississauga. = _ _
Divide by 1000. = .0_ _
ADD your answer to the posted W. coord ( 79 45.728). = 79 45._ _ _

The new coords should put you less than 200 m from the cache at Stage 2. You may need your best stealth skills as this is a popular trail.
